Backpacks for Hunger and Harvester’s Community Food Network By; Connor and Anna

Backpacks for Hunger Backpacks for hunger is a program through COR that fills backpacks with food for kids that don’t have the food they need The backpacks contain food and other things like school supplies. Backpacks for Hunger takes place Wednesdays from 4-5:30

The 4 W’s of Backpacks for Hunger Who- The 8 th grade GD classes along with other volunteers at the event What- Packing backpacks for needy children When- 4:00-5:30 pm on any Wednesday Why- The kids need the food on the weekends and they do not get it without the backpacks

Information from the Church The reality for thousands of children in the Kansas City area is they will face a long weekend with little or nothing to eat. Be a helping hand to approximately 1,400 children attending one of Resurrection's partner schools because hunger doesn't take the weekend off.

Harvesters Harvesters is an organization that give food to groups of people and provides things like fruit, vegetables, and bread There are different options to help Harvesters, you can actually go to Harvesters and help pack food or we can organize a food drive to collect food for the organizations You can sign up groups for a couple of hours at the warehouse

The 4 W’s of Harvesters Who- The 8 th grade GD classes and other volunteers What- Packing food in crates or boxes to be sent to people in the K.C. area When- We would need to choose a time Where- The K.C. Harvesters warehouse
