List some of the most famous people in the U.S.

 Country:  1. worked from dusk to dawn  2. Evenings would bring reading, playing games, singing around the piano.  City:  1. Average work week went from 70hrs in 1850 to 45 by  2. Work week decreased from 7 days to 5  3. Salary and wages increased

 With more free time and disposable income, urban people looked for new sources of entertainment:  Nickelodeons – Name for movie theaters (because it only cost a nickel to get in.  During the 1920s, million people went to movies each week.

 KDKA (Pittsburgh) was the 1 st radio station in the U.S.  Americans listened to music, religious sermons, educational lectures, news and weather reports, etc.
