8 Company Confidential SP765x and SP766x differences  Over Current Protection (OCP)  SP7650/1/2/3/5 do not have current limit  SP7661/2/3 do have current limit  Current limit is NOT a value driver  SP766x current limit may not be used above 3.3Vout  Single Supply Operation  SP765x need an external 5V supply to power the internal circuits  SP766x have an internal LDO and can operate from 5V to 22V  Input Operating Voltage  SP765x can operate to either 20V or 28V  SP766x can operate to 22V  There is no difference in value between 20V and 22V, but 28V may command a slightly higher value to serve 24VDC applications  Slightly improved efficiency

9 Company Confidential SP766x Tricks and Hints  SP766x current limit function limits Vout to 3.3V, but if disabled, Vout is not limited  If current limit is connected and the output is set for 5V, the part may be damaged.  The datasheet tells the customer about the 3.3V limitation on OCP function  SP766x needs close attention to layout to prevent highly negative ringing on the switch node. An app note should be available soon to address this.
