WHAT WAS TRAINING LIKE FOR OLYMPIC ATHLETES? INTENSE TRAINING THAT WOULD LAST UP TO 10 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE OLYMPICS.

WHAT TYPES OF AWARDS/REWARDS WERE GIVEN TO VICTORS? There was only 1 winner. The winner was given a palm leaf and had an olive branch crown placed on his head. The athlete was welcomed as a hero in his hometown. A statue was erected for him, he was given free meals. He was basically the greatest celebrity of the town. Why do you think he would have been so famous?
