Introduction to Mime Occupational Mime

Learning Intentions By the end of this lesson you will: Know what occupational mime is. Have worked on some exercises to help you develop your mime skills.

Occupational Mime Occupational Mime involves miming everyday jobs/tasks e.g. making dinner, taking the dog for a walk, painting a wall etc.

Something to remember As well as your SPECS, you must also consider the: Weight Shape Size Texture Temperature

Task In your jotter you should use your knowledge of mime to describe in as much detail as possible the steps you would take when using occupational mime to perform a serve and at least one return in tennis. Points to remember:  SPECS  Weight, Shape, Size, Texture and Temperature  Focus and eye contact  Reactions (including body language and facial expression) In pairs follow the instruction you have written and see if you can mime the start of a tennis match.
