 Sept Hitler Occupies Poland  April/May Denmark and Norway fall  10 th of May Holland and Belgium fall  June 22 nd FRANCE falls

 Early Germany takes part of N. Africa, Greece, Yugoslavia  Germany attacks Russia, pushes Russia inward.

By 1942… 3 years in… Who’s left to stop Hitler?

 Nightly raids by the Germans  Continuous bombings on London  The British Royal Air Force was able to hold off, considered a miracle.  Hitler was forced to postpone his all out invasion into Great Britain

 Dec 7, Japan attacks the United States naval base Pearl Harbor.  Feb Japan takes Singapore from the British.

 However, Japan knew they had “messed up”, as the prime minister was quoted as saying, “I am afraid we have woken a sleeping giant”.  Video

 Part of Germany’s demise was that they were fighting a 2 front war.  Fighting the Russians to the East, and the British/ Americans to the West.  Activity
