COUNSELOR INTRODUCTION How can the counselor help me be successful?

Nonverbal Activity Each student was given a character card. Then they had to walk around the room without talking to find their partner. After they found their partner they set down and discussed what the school counselor does at Old Bonhomme. Then they shared their answers with the class.

Counselor Hats - Celebrate  Hard Hat – Represents all the hard work the students do at Old Bonhomme. Counseling lessons will teach them how to celebrate their hard work and the hard work of others.

Counselor Hats – Character Counselor will help instill good character qualities through special events, daily announcements, classroom lessons, small group and individual counseling.

Counselor Hats – Habits  Represents the importance of establishing good habits. The Seven Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey will be incorporated into classroom lessons.

Counselor Hats – Leadership Every student is a LEADER. Counseling lessons will work toward each student finding the LEADER in them.

First Aid Kit Contents  A Bug – For the times you need to talk to the counselor about things or people bugging you.  Smile Face – When you just need a smile.  Feeling Frog – When you need help controlling your feelings.
