Measuring and Drawing Angles with a Protractor

Protractor Center Hole

Protractor Straight Edge

Protractor Curved Edge

Step 1: Place the center hole over the vertex of the angle

Step 2: Line up the mark next to the center whole with the one side of the angle.

Step 3: Find the point where the second side of the angle intersects with the curved edge

Step 4: Read the number on the protractor to find the measure of the angle

Drawing Angles with a Protractor

Step 1: Draw a ray with the straight edge of the protractor

Step 2: Place the center hole over the starting point of the ray

Step 3: Place a dot at the angle measure required

Step 3: Line up the straight edge over the starting point of the ray and the dot

Step 4: Draw a ray connecting the two marks. The point at which they meet is called the vertex

Try this: Draw an angle which measures 120 o
