Module Description: This module provides the basic foundation of the Internet, its protocols, applications and other related technologies. In addition, this course gives students a sound understanding of technologies and tools used to create and develop web applications.

University of Khartoum Module Objectives On completion of this module, students should be able to: Understand the main concepts and protocols related to the Internet. Design and implement basic web sites. Use client-side technologies to implement web pages (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX). Use server side technologies to implement web applications (JSP, PHP, ASP.Net). Develop a simple back-end database to support a web application. Understand the basic principles of Internet security. Understand non-technical issues related to the Internet technologies (privacy, legal,...).
