Mitochondria and the Healthy Brain Initiative A perfect match

Mitochondria and the Healthy Brain Initiative Mitochondrial diseases are rare diseases of energy metabolism and nature’s experiment to understand common disorders and conditions Mitochondrial dysfunction is associated with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson Although the brain represents only 2% of the body weight, it receives 15% of the cardiac output, 20% of total body oxygen consumption, and 25% of total body glucose utilization. Mitochondria and its oxidative phosphorylation system are essential for a healthy brain

The RCMM has more than 40 years of internationally acknowledged experience in mitochondria and disease A focus on OXPHOS structure, function and pathology, from molecule to man to population Excellent clinical, diagnostic and research toolbox available Radboud Nanomedicine Alliance
