Sound Lounge Explore the links between reading, writing and music

Can you think of any links between music and writing? Consider: Tone, mood & atmosphere The writer / musician The act of writing / making & performing music

Choose your hack Hack: an activity with reading at its heart

Novel Soundtracks Create a soundtrack for a book that captures the mood, atmosphere and story

Lyric Speak Become a lyric artist and make a playlist of your own recordings inspired by a story.

Turn a Book into a Song Get composing and turn a book into a song

Crisis and Creation a Fan Fiction hack How do musicians write their greatest works? Choose a musician or band. Then choose one of their best songs. Write a short piece of fan fiction imagining the moment of crisis that led this musician or artist to write the song. There’s one rule - don’t name the song in your story!

Sound Lounge Listen Write Share Free write while listening to music. Do it with a friend or in a group to create a sound lounge. How do the same pieces of music influence everyone’s writing?
