We receive help re: our responsibilities when we consider 3 statements from the inspired writer James. Following this short “outline” will help us worship and serve God acceptably.

Hab 2:20 But the LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.

1 Sam 3:10 Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Thy servant is listening.”

Acts 17:10a, 11 And the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea;… Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so.

1 Thess 2:13 And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God’s message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.

James 1:21 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22

Matt 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

Matt 7:24-25 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.

May we have come ready to be taught & reminded of what is true… …and may we leave ready to obey God in serving Him and others.
