“WORDS”

Verb ( 동사 ) vs. Noun ( 명사 ) A verb is an action word. Ex: Run, jump, swim, sing, fight, write... A noun is a person, place or thing. Ex: Jacob’s wife, Korea, apple pie, desk, elephant’s nose…

English is a weird language! English can be confusing! Some English words can be used as a verb or a noun. Let’s take a look at some examples…

Verb, Noun or Both? Game! I will show you a word. You will get one point if you tell me if it is a verb, noun or both. You will get two points if you use it in a sentence as a verb and as a noun! Example: Cook. Student, “Cook is both a verb and a noun.” (1 POINT) Student, “Verb: What are you going to cook for dinner?” (2 POINTS) Student, “Noun: I think the cook made a good meal.” (2 POINTS) Total 5 points. Most points wins candy.
