Freeman Kirby Salvage Yard ALG Lawrence County May 5, 2014 Karl M. Ryan, inspector 1

The facility surface is a mix of gravel, dirt, and slag from the steel mill in Decatur. There are oil stains on the ground. 2

All manner of automotive parts and salvage can be found on site. Engines, transmissions, wheels, tires, radiators, etc are all located on site in various piles. These piles are sitting on the ground and out in the open. 3

During the inspection, Mr. Kirby stated that he had crushed cars in January. During the inspection there was no car crusher present on site. There are several large stains on the ground though. 4

Some engines and transmissions have been wrapped for shipment. 5

This is the work area were fluids are drained from vehicles. There is a concrete berm around the work area and sand is on hand to absorb spills. There are three totes (200 gallons each) on site for storage of waste oil and other automotive fluids. 6
