Call of Duty Psychological Warfare: The Link Between Video Games and Aggression By Wyatt James Palmer

Why This Topic? This is a widely debated topic Video games are a popular source of entertainment in today’s society I love to play video games

What Counts as a violent video game? The video game ratings are determined by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) which rates games as EC for early childhood, E for everyone, E10+ for ages 10 and over, T for Teen, M for Mature, and A for Adults only. Researchers define a game as being violent if a character in the game displays realistic or cartoonish aggressive behavior towards another character.

So how do these games affect aggression? “Does the controller matter?” Study by McGloin, Farrar, & Krcmar (2013) (KI_ _)

Studies that show no correlation “Comparing the effects of video games and other risk factors on violence.” Study by DeCamp (2015)

Notice A Difference? Environmental Factors Personal Disposition Long vs. Short Term.

Conclusion Do video games really cause aggression?
