5. Why do you think some countries in the world have wealth, technology, and power.. while others suffer from disease, poverty, and have less access to technology? vs

Today: Why is the world the way it is? Why did history happen the way it did? One person has come up with an explanation for this complex question. Author, Jared Diamond explains his theory in his book, Guns, Germs, and Steel

This theory is based on “Geographic Luck.” Assignment: Watch the video and answer the questions in the viewing guide. We will stop the video to clarify any questions you might miss. *Diamond’s theory is going to be the basis for your first writing assignment. I will explain the assignment in more detail later but for now you need to understand the purpose of this assignment will be to analyze Jared Diamond’s theory.
