Nurses A nurse is a health care professional who is engaged in the practice of nursing. Nurses are responsible—along with other health care professional for the treatment, safety, and recovery of acutely or chronically ill or injured people,

Paramedic A paramedic is an emergency medical technician certified to the highest level of training and responds to medical and trauma emergencies.

Consultant This is a senior doctor. He or she is in charge of the medical treatment team. The consultant will visit patients on the ward and decide on the appropriate treatment.

Phlebotomist This person works with the nursing team and is responsible for taking blood samples, they have in house training so that they can go to peoples house to help them through tough periods of illness.

Radiologist This is a doctor who is specialised in treatment that involves different types of radiation, examples of this are x-rays. They have to train for this job for nine to fifteen years including basic medical training

Pharmacy technician This person buys in, makes up, and dispenses medicines within the hospital. The training will take about two years to become qualified also they have in house training.

House keeper This person helps the ward sister run the ward by coordinating services such as cleaning, catering and maintenance of the ward and hospital also they will have to look after the equipment.

Student nurse This person has not yet qualified as a a nurse but is completing his or her training by working in the series of different hospital wards. This person will choose a particular ward specialise after qualifying
