HLT (generic)  Data TDR DaVinci v9r3 DC04 DaVici v12r0 DC04 DaVici v12r1  Outlook! # of track candidates!!! Comparation DC04 & TDR data  L1 does a better job now! Results of the L1 generic  Hadronic line fine!  The vertex is gaining us something!?  The “calorimeter” line in progress  The “muon” line in progress HLT (generic) Jose A. Hernando, Frederic Teubert (27/9/04) status report

HLT generic  About HLT: Algorithms:  Tracking Velo 3D  Matching Velo tracks with muon stations Work in progress in the muon line  Select a PV and candidates: Candidates tracks [0.1,3] mm of |IP|  Velo-TT and Long Tracking of the candidates  Compute variables –L1confirmation = log(pt0)+log(pt1) (2 highest pt tracks) –Z-flight distance: secondary vertex with the 4 th highest PT tracks  About the code: v1r0 (for DaVinci v12r0) using l1-generic ready to commit V2r1 (for DaVinci v12r1): [in other words L1 muon line] “almost” ready.

# of tracks candidates Eff vs retention  # tracks: (uppss! We send a wrong message!) One track to one vertex (IP smaller) Before all tracks to the same Pvertex The # of candidates is 10 in DC04 On1y ONE PV DC04

# of tracks TDR DC04

Time of HLTGeneric KHz  Algorithms: Decode: (Velo,TT,(ST+OT); Tracking: Velo3D, PV, VeloTT, LongTracking Selection: PV, Matching L0, Decision Time 23 ms [20 ms] (3.3,3.8 ms at 07’) => t_specific = (11-3.8)*(40/10) = 29 ms Tracking time Entry ~70 events minbias L0L1

# of candidates and vertices Z distance vs log(pt1*pt2)  Candidates & vertices DC04: less candidates tracks DC04: Less multi primary vertices events!  Cleaner! # of Primary Vertices# of long track candidates

Quark contents KHz Ud, c, b content  Quark content after L1 DC04:  From 4 to 6 KHz of b’s  B-enriched min-bias!  L1 performs better!

L1-confirmation & Dz for mim bias  Variables (mim bias) DC04: harder l1-confimation events  (better L1) DC04: slightly shifted dz to the right  More b’ contents L1-conf Dz (second-first) mim bias [mm]

L1confirmation: mim bias & signal DC04 TDR

Dz: mim bias and signal DC04 TDR

l1confirmation: eff vs ret DC04TDR  L1confirmation Works fine!, a little bit worse B-events are on the right of the curve: few KHz extra => few HKz less rejection L1 without muon line

B-content: l1 confirmation DC04 TDR  B-content (l1confirmation) We pass from 50% to 60% in DC04!

Efficiency vs l2-variable DC04TDR  L1confirmation+bonus+delta_z We need to split a line for the “calorimeter” triggers:  (revisit) Vertex gain little… so we keep it in mind, use monstly l1confirmation (simple)

Efficiency vs l2-variable DC04 TDR

HLT generic: L1 with muon line  L1 v3r0 (muon line) L1-confirmation fine (with z-flight similar to the previous DC04) L1 with muon line

Conclusion & Plans  About HLT: Generic code: ready to commit [v1r0,v2r0] HLT-generic is working fine >90% at 10 KHz L1 now is better:  Higher b content (~3 KHz more)  Harder pt mim-bias events  Less multi-primary vertex events More studies:  “Calorimeter” line: bonus l1conf += f(Et)  “Muon” line: work with Alessia  Improve the vertex rejection ore keep it as optional! All studies with L1 with muon line  “DST” ready to be analyzed…
