Diversity in the industrial science and engineering (S&E) workforce 2 How diverse is the industrial S&E workforce compared to the U.S. S&E workforce and the U.S. resident population? Do different groups (men/women, race/ethnicity groups) of scientists and engineers employed in industry vary by: Highest educational degree? Occupation? Primary/secondary work activities? Managerial status?

Data Source: 2008 SESTAT 3 The Scientists and Engineers Statistical Data System (SESTAT) consists of three workforce surveys of individuals conducted by NSF: National Survey of College Graduates (NSCG) National Survey of Recent College Graduates (NSRCG) National Survey of Doctorate Recipients (SDR) Demographic, employment and educational data on scientists and engineers in the U.S., as of October ,000+ survey respondents +19M scientists and engineers are represented Trained or working in S&E or S&E-related fields or occupations
