Open Studies It is possible to take courses from the English taught degree programmes. Study costs € 95 for a minimum of 5 credits. After completing open studies, students can apply to study for a Kajaani UAS degree where open studies will be accepted as part of that degree.

Department of Research and Development R&D is one of the basic functions of the Kajaani UAS and its activity is based on the needs of working life R&D activity supports working life and regional development, and serves education in all fields at Kajaani UAS Functions are focused on developing the products and processes of enterprises and other organisations in the Kainuu region The objective is to convey technology, knowledge and know-how in the region Carries out around 20 projects and employs 20 to 25 persons on an annual basis – annual budget is €3 mil.
