In The Name Of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Islamic Character

O mankind! We created you from a single person, males and females, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly, the most honored of you in God's sight is the greatest of you in piety (righteousness). Allah is All- Knowing, All-Aware. (Quran 49:13)

Good Character Routed in the heart. Desire for virtue and doing good. Proper upbringing and training. Islam orders good character. Allah says, praising His Prophet: {And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted character} (68:4). Allah’s Messenger said: “For I have been sent for the completion of the good character”. Examples of Good Character Modesty True speech Few words Plenty of good deeds Kindness to relatives Showing gratitude Remaining pleased Being tolerant Kindness and gentlenss

Patience and Perseverance Always obey Allah no matter what. Quote. Seek the help of Allah. Remember the promised reward for patience. {They are those on whom (descend) blessings (and forgiveness) from their Lord, and (they are those who) received His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones}. Many hadiths. Quote & conclusion.

Reliance upon Allah Religious obligation {And put your trust in Allah if you are believers indeed} Seek the use of all the necessary means. Success depends on the will and decree of Allah. Messenger would use material and spriritual means then put his trust in Allah and credit. “If all of you were to rely upon Allah in the manner He deserves from you, then He would certainly grant you provisions as He provides it to the birds ……”

Selflessness Love of good for others (hunger, thirst, life) {And they give them (emigrants) preference over themselves even though they were…..} “None of you becomes a true believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself” Many examples. Adopt loving, kindness, hospitality, and selflessness.

Justice and Equity {Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and doing good, and giving (help) to kith and kin} Just in speech, judgements and every affair. Gain Allah’s love, acceptance, honor and help. “Seven will be shaded by Allah on the day when there will be no shade except His: A just ruler….” Justice with Allah. Justice in judgements. Justice between children. Justice in speech. Justice in what is believed.

Moderation {And thus We have made you a moderate (just) nation} Affects every part of Muslim’s life. Seeking the middle way between two extremes. Worship free from any kind of extermism or negligence. Moderation in: spending; clothing; walking, talking. Sufficient enough pride and honor. {Verily, those who say: Our Lord……}

Mercy Source of a pure soul and spirit. Being kind, doing righteous deeds, staying away from evil and shunning corruption. “Allah is only merciful with those who show mercy to others” Heart’s mercy: pardoning those who slip, forgiving those who are mistaken, helping others, assisting the weak, feeding the hungry tending to the sick, and consoling the grieved. Examples.

Modesty “Faith has over sixty or seventy branches….” Both encourage good and discourage evil. Modesty prevents lack of gratitude, neglecting to fulfill the rights of others and from foul deeds or speech. “Modesty is all good” Modesty with the Creator. Modesty with the creation.

Ihsan Do things to the best possible manner. {And practice Ihsan. Truly, Allah loves the doers of Ihsan} Ihsan in worship. Ihsan with parents. Ihsan with relatives. Ihsan with poor. Ihsan with workers. Ihsan with people. Ihsan with animals. Ihsan with work.

Truthfulness Always truthful, loves the truth and adheres to it outwardly and inwardly (words & deeds). Leads to righteousness which leads to paradise. Integral part of faith {O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with the truthful} Peace of mind and tranquility. Blessings one’s work and increasing in good.

Kindness and Generosity Faith & righteous deeds purify and radiate the heart to be kind and generous. {Take alms from their wealth in order to purify them and bless them with it} “Protect yourself from hell-fire even with a piece of a date” Should not render it vain by reminders. Should be cheerful when asked and giving. Should spend in moderation. Complete satisfaction, a cheerful face and nice speech.

Humblness Humble not oppressive or arrogant. One of the best character: “..and none is humble for Allah except that Allah raises him” {And walk not on earth with pride and arrogance} “Every Prophet tended sheep”
