THE POWER of ONE-TO-ONE MENTORING A GUIDE TO KIDS HOPE MENTORING FOR CHURCHES

KIDS HOPE AUS partners with churches and schools to enable positive change in the lives of vulnerable children through consistent mentoring relationships. Our Mission

OUR VISION HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD

How does it work? OUR MODEL Churches affiliate with KIDS HOPE AUS and partner with a local primary school with the intention of enhancing the lives of children through the power of one-to-one mentoring with a vision of providing hope in the life of every child. KIDS HOPE AUS resources, trains and supports coordinators and mentors in their specific roles.

GIVE HOPE ONE MENTOR + ONE CHILD = ONE BRIGHT FUTURE

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD How do I get started? CREATE A KIDS HOPE PROGRAM IN YOUR CHURCH Using the acronym C.R.E.A.T.E. we will show you six steps you need to follow to get a KIDS HOPE AUS program started. C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD CONTACT KIDS HOPE AUS via Website: Phone: C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish RESEARCH THE PROGRAM A KIDS HOPE AUS staff member will guide you through the details and answer any questions you may have about the implementation of a KIDS HOPE AUS program for your church.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish ENGAGE WITH YOUR CHURCH LEADERSHIP & CONGREGATION A Kids Hope program needs the full support and endorsement from the church leadership and ownership and participation from the congregation. You also need to find a Coordinator to lead and manage the program.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish LICENSE AFFILIATION & FEE To get your program started and before training is received, the church needs to become a licensed partner with KIDS HOPE AUS. This is obtained by completing the Church Affiliation Licence Agreement and paying the associated *Annual Licence Fee. * This is currently measured by the average adult attendance at your church.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish COORDINATOR ATTENDS TRAINING The Coordinator attends a comprehensive training event and learns about all requirements of managing a KIDS HOPE AUS program. They are also taught how to recruit, screen and train the mentors within their church.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ffiliate T raining E stablish MENTORING BEGINS Once the mentors are trained, they are then matched with the children from their partner school and the mentoring can start. Relationships are then established and the social, emotional and behavioural development of the child can begin.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD BUILDING COMMUNITY AND CONNECTING WITH KIDS The partnership established between a church and school through a KIDS HOPE AUS program, provides a great community connection as well as the combined impact it has on the mentored children. Community Partnerships

“It is such a powerful engagement when churches and schools work together for the sake of the children.” – Tim Costello PARTNERSHIPS
