6.1 Product, packaging and process design HACCP study during the product development  Safe pet food that meet pets nutritional requirements  Factory trials to test the product formulation  Shelf life based on product formulation, production, packaging and storage  Packaging must assure pet food safety

6.2 Formulation Feed materials are mixed to produce safe pet food  Respect EU legislation on:  Prohibited feed materials  Presence of undesirable substances  Use of permitted additives  The risks of accidental contamination are monitored and controlled
