Presentation transcript:

Summary of the book ● A father, his four children and their dog are going on a bear hunt. They cross over a field, a river, some mud, a forest, some snow and finally arrive to a cave. They meet the bear in the cave and scared, go all the way back to their house and in bed. At the end of the book they promise to never go to a bear hunt again.

● Invent the sounds of each places and write them ● Play different roles : actor, singer,... ● Create a counting album ● Book creator : read the book out loud ● Realize the different places in an artistic way ● Learn and sing a song The different goals :

1) Learn and sing a song ● The teacher shows the illustrations of the book and sing the song of the book, he reads the texts concerning the different places and doesn't read the sounds. We're going on a bear hunt We're going to catch a big one What a beautiful day I'm not scared ● wds wds

2) Create the sounds ● In small groups, the children imagine what kind of sounds the family can make going through the field, the river, the mud, the forest, the snow and the cave. ● While observing the size of the words, they understand that each sound must be said : Twice softly Twice medium Twice loud ● Chidren find out how to write the sounds : « What letter makes the sound FFFFF ? »

3) The play ● Once the children know the song, the text and the sounds, they play the book. Each child has a different role : Actor : father, older sister, younger sister, older brother, baby boy, dog that walk along the different places symbolized on the ground Singer : the song learned earlier Narrator : say the text about the field, the river... Sound maker : they choose one of the sound created by the children and say it twice softly, twice medium, twice loudly ● See the link Youtube on erasmus' website.

4) Realize a collective poster for each place of the book : the field, the river, the mud, the forest, the snow, the cave

And this is the result :

5) Create an e-book ● We take a picture of each page of the album and the children read the book out loud, sing and make the different sounds. ● Look at the link on the website.

6) The counting album ● Each child will create his own counting album from number 6 to10. For each number there will be the number with all its representation (the dice, the number, the word, the fingers, the dots), the number of bears colored, the number of sticky tacks sticked. And on the other page an illustration of one place of the book, for example the river with the book's text transformed : We're going on a bear hunt We're going to catch (6, 7, 8, 9 or 10) big ones What a beautiful day ! We're not scared ● Once the illustration is colored or painted in an artistic way, the number of bears will be glued on it.

The cover page of the counting album The example for number 6 :
