BCH Nursing Staffing: Nursing Workforce Summary Monthly Ave:Act vs. PlanAcuitySkill MixVacancyAnnual LeaveMat LeaveSickness Jul %92.0%77.6% %6.8%7.0% Aug %94.4%77.8% %6.0%7.0% Sep %92.0%76.5% %6.3%5.5% Capacity: In August ’15 the Trust saw its predicted seasonal reduction in planned and emergency activity and used this opportunity to close ward 10 and replace the ward floor and undertake planned maintenance work in theatres. Staffing: Sickness levels decreased in September ’15 the overall vacancy level didn’t change. Annual leave taken in August ’15 increased as it is the main holiday month returning to within normal limits in September’15. Temporary Staffing: Bank spend in August’15 was the lowest in this finical year and although it increased in September ‘15 it remains low compared to the previous September ‘14. There were no reported red shifts in this period.
