Roald Dahl was born in Cardiff, Wales

He was born on 13 th September 1916 This is now called Roald Dahl Day, poeple have Roald Dahl parties

His Mum and Dad came from Norway He loved hearing stories his mum made up about trolls and other strange creatures

When he was at school he put a mouse in a jar of sweets. He got into big trouble !

When he was 23 he joined the RAF He became a fighter pilot in the second world war

He was injured during the war, he started to write stories after that His first story was “The Gremlins”

He became a VERY famous author He wrote 17 books for children (and some for grown-ups too)

Some of his characters are very good, and some are very bad Miss Honey Miss Trunchbull

His stories are usually very funny...like when The Eejits got stuck upside down !
