The Dangers of Smoking! The Nataly Ben-Ari & Lian Aisic Co. Presents: The Addiction: Cigarettes

Tobacco, which is the main ingredient of the cigarette, was first grown and used by the Native Americans in 1 BCE

When the Europeans discovered the New World, the tobacco and it’s uses were introduced to them as well. As time went on, tobacco and particularly cigarette smoking became more and more popular.

But as the popularity of the cigarette grew, also did the suspicion of it.

As scientific research grew, it was found that smoking cigarettes causes many complications in body organs such as the heart, The smoke of the cigarette reaches the lungs and causes the pulse rate to be higher. This means that the heart works harder- which can eventually cause a heart failure and other complications.

Lungs, Smoking causes lung diseases such as Bronchitis, Emphysema, Lung cancer as well as other cancers.

Bones, Smokers are in greater risk of osteoporosis, which is a disease that makes the bones thin and weak; in fact, when smokers break a bone, it almost doubles the time it takes for it to heal.

Blood vessels, The blood vessels of a smoker do not respond as well as those of nonsmokers when the heart needs more blood flow during physical exertion. Smoking also fills your blood vessels with carbon monoxide- a fatal gas.

Sex organs, Male smokers have a greater chance of nonesmokers to suffer from damage in the process if sperm production, which causes the decrease in the amount and quality of the sperms. Years of smoking make it difficult for men to achieve or sustain an erection. Teenage smokers who can't kick the habit could be impotent by te time they reach their 30s or 40s.

Brain, Smoking more than doubles the risk of Alzheimer's disease: memory loss. Smoking also increases the chances to suffer from a brain stroke.

Throat, Continued smoking causes an unnatural thickening of the mucus which pads the throat. This thickening accompanies changes in the cells which are connected to throat cancer.

Nervous System, Smoking decreases the amount of Oxygen in the blood circulation, as an outcome there might be some damage to the nervous system. That will effect especially the decrease in alertness, and in the speed of reaction and decision making.

Eyes, Nose, Ears, Mouth, smoking, gradually and unnoticeably, causes a decrease in the sensitivitly of the senses of taste and smell. Smoking also increases the chance to suffer from different eye diseases that cause decrease in the eyesight and may even lead to blindness in older ages. Smokers have a greater risk of getting mouth cancer (oral cancer). Continuous smoking damages the blood vessels that provide blood and oxygen to the hearing system organs, and thus damages those organs as well.

And skin. Smoking also causes beauty failures such as wrinkles, droopy eyes, yellow teeth, yellow fingernails, yellowish skin

It is also known that smoking isn’t healthy for pregnant women. Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of stillbirth, miscarriage, and severe vaginal bleeding. Babies of mothers who smoke are twice more likely to die from sudden infant death syndrome than babies of nonsmokers. Embryos of smoking women may be at increased risk of lasting problems, including asthma, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems.

Secondhand smoking is dangerous too!!! It is estimated that only about 15% of cigarette smoke gets inhaled by the smoker, and the remaining 85% lingers into the air for everyone to breath. Secondhand smoke causes lung cancer, increases the risk of a heart attack, almost triples the risk of women to contract breast cancer, and contributes to the development of heart disease. Children who are exposed to secondhand smoke are more likely to experience increased frequency of: asthma, colds, bronchitis, other lung diseases, sinus infections and ear infections.

Smoking cigarettes is bad for your health! Now everyone knows:
