  We should receive counsel from others.   “Where there is no guidance (counsel) the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory (safety, deliverance).” PROVERBS 11:14 NASBSAFETY!   Without consultation (counsel), plans are frustrated (fail), but with many counselors they succeed (established, fixed, confirmed).” PROVERS 15:22 NASBSUCCESS!

NAME Counselor   JESUS is our ultimate (of the greatest or highest degree or quantity) COUNSELLOR “I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel…” PSALM 16:7 KJV “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” PSALM 32:8 NASB “You will guide me with Your counsel…” PSALM 73:24

NAME Counselor   HOW does Jesus give Counsel?   His Word   Psalm 119:24…”Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my counselors.”   Psalm 119:105…” Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”   His Spirit   John 16:13…”When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”

NURTURING Godly Counsel 1. DEVELOP a group of “counselors” 2. DIG into God’s Word with “conviction” 3. DISCERN the Spirit by “concentrating” (listening)
