The Voice of the Smart Security Industry EUROSMART is an international non-profit association located in Brussels, Belgium and representing the Smart Security Industry. Founded in 1995, the association advocates the use of Smart Secure Devices and smart security solutions to enhance the usability of digital services while protecting privacy and combatting fraud. 24 Member.

3. Trends on eID/eSignature Programs in Europe European Citizen Card Standard is the preferred framework. Examples: France/eHealth, Germany/eID & eHealth, Italy (from 2015), Lithuania/eID, Monaco/eID, Netherlands/eID (from 2015), Romania/eHealth, Slovenia/eHealth, Sweden/eID The ICAO-Standard for e-Passport migrate into eID cards. Examples: Germany, Italy (from 2015), Lithuania, Monaco, Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey e-Signature is a voluntary function Examples: Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Spain … Security and privacy are requested in the connected world Example: End of CY states issue secure eID card/token. eID in the Mobile World is needed.

Cross Border Interoperability Programs in Europe Secure IdenTity acrOss boRders linKed (STORK) Scope: eID and services 85 partners from 19 EU Member States (STORK_2) Start 2012, Finish 2015; €18 Million budget European Patients Smart Open Services (EPSOS) Scope: eHealth and services 47 partners from 20 EU Members States and 3 non-EU Countries. Start 2012, Finish 2013; €36,5 Million budget Open Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine (OpenPEPPOL) Scope: eSignature and services 18 partners from 11 EU Member States Start 2013, Finish 2015, €30,8 Million budget Additional programs are SPOCS, eCODEX and eSENS

5. Conclusion Digital Agenda for Europe addresses eGovernment, Single Market, Electronic Identification and Trusted Services. EU Commission is on the way to regulate eID along cross border services. End of CY 2013 in Europe 18 States issue eID-Cards. This is the highest number in one continent. End of CY 2013 around 150 Million eIDs are in the field. This captures 30% of the total population of 500 Million citizens. The oldest program started in The youngest program started in the 2nd Half of 2013 (over 16 years of knowledge on eID). EU Commission and Member States spend more than €100 Million for technical interoperability along eID, eHealth, eSignature and eServices
