UVZ-Ferrosplav Russia, Nizhny Tagil OOO UVZ-Ferrosplav is a leading manufacturing enterprises in Russia and the CIS in producing cored wire, finely- divided ferroalloys, nodulizers and foundry rich alloys.

About the company OOO UVZ-Ferrosplav produces high-quality cored wire for secondary treatment of steels and cast irons, iron and steel nodulizers, finely-divided ferroalloys, fine powders (0- 0,315mm) for spray coating of welding electrodes and welding flux cored wire. Production potential is 36,000 tons per year for secondary treatment cored wire, 5,000 tons per year for fine powders, 3,000 tons per year for nodulizers. Our production is supplied to all metallurgical enterprises of Russia.

Scientific aspect The continuous improvement of production technology and the development of new materials allowed to form the main technological areas of our activities: improvement of steel quality used in transport engineering, shipbuilding, welding and etc.; output that provides refining, desulphurization, modification and microalloying in production of steel and cast iron.

The main activities of the Center for sceince and innovation Development and implementation of the iron-carbon melts' modification technology that provides the output of metal with the required level of consumer properties; Improving the quality and effectiveness of nodulizers; Development and implementation of a new generation of nodulizers – multi-elements, mixed, flux-metall, etc., providing the output of steel with improved consumer properties.

Relevant scientific objections: Differentiation of composition and application technology of nodulizers for steel and cast iron for various purposes. Microatomization of steels and cast iron structures as a result of modifying processing. Increase in the purity of metal for gases and nonmetallic inclusions by optimizing the composition of nodulizers. Creating nodulizers of prolonged action.

Technological development Together with South Ural State University we implement the program "Improving the quality and performance properties of steel for different purposes by enhancement the technology of modifying iron-carbon melts with the use of nodulizing materials of new generation" The purpose of the work: development of technology for smelting, ensuring output of steel with improved performance characteristics; optimization of the structural condition and homogeneity increase for different purposes; increasing purity (for gases and nonmetallic inclusions) and microatomization of the metal structure; optimizing the composition of complex brand-new nodulizers; introduction of new technologies and materials for smelting at steel works.

Technological development getting convincing experimental results that reveal the effect mechanism of various nodulizing materials on the structure and properties of steel consumption. complex (using the most modern methods) study of the metal's fine structure, using various nodulizing material and technologies for their application. experimental metal smelting in laboratory with the use of various nodulizers and technologies. evaluation of gas content, composition and morphology of nonmetallic inclusions and dispersed particles, the size and nature of the grain structure in the laboratory and pilot industrial metals. evaluation of experimental steel's mechanical properties obtained by using different nodulizers.
