PROJECT DESIGN AREAS 10

GENERAL LANDSCAPE GOALS Beautification and meeting Bay- friendly landscape requirements Demonstrate sustainable designs and utilize plants that require low water Create a Baylands atmosphere within the RWQCP Centralize the irrigation control Enhanced ecosystem CONCERNS Having expanses of high water use lawn areas Neglecting the planting beds and introducing invasive species Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 11

RECYCLING CENTER GOALS To relocate the Recycling Center next to the RWQCP We will ensure proper perimeter fencing and security Create an efficient layout Have sensitivity to existing mature trees Create a “Baylands” bike path Introduce public art into the plan Create a provision for a future through road CONCERNS Having an industrial land plan with excessive paving Screen visibility Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 12

PERIMETER LANDSCAPE SCREENING GOALS Create facility screening Integrate the screening into the adjacent Baylands Having considerations for public art in the design Creating pathway connections Ensuring low maintenance designs Enhancing the ecosystem CONCERNS Using invasive species Creating short-term solutions Having high maintenance solutions Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 13

MOAT AND DEMONSTRATION AREAS GOALS Designing Bay friendly and sustainable demonstration areas for educational opportunities Having an inviting atmosphere and with an added water features Creating defined and safe gathering spaces and pedestrian connections with increased ease of wayfinding Making a “clean water” moat CONCERNS Eliminating the “green” water Installing high water use plants Unsafe connections and putting the public in the wrong place Having a high maintenance design Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 14

RECYCLED WATER TANK GOALS Design a Bay friendly and sustainable demonstration area Having a recycled water educational area Creating a pondless water feature Defining the public and employee gathering spaces Increase the ease of wayfinding CONCERNS Having a negative view upon entry Having unused space at the recycled water tank Having an unclear definition of the public spaces Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 15

HABITAT CORRIDOR GOALS Beautification and screening Re-introducing native plants Encouraging animals and birds to return to the habitat corridor Creating a landscape connection to the adjacent Renzel Marsh Having proper irrigation control CONCERNS Introducing non-native and invasive plant materials Public access paths Aspirations/Needs/Concerns 16
