V7 Content Management Administration Foundation This course is designed for administrators responsible for installing, maintaining and managing the Vignette V7 Content Suite.  Students learn the core V7 Content Suite architecture and practice troubleshooting techniques through monitoring the V7 components and analyzing log file information.  Using Vignette Management Console, students learn to perform content management tasks including the creation of the content project hierarchy, content type definitions (modeling), content instances, and the site/channel hierarchy.  Students create roles and associated capabilities using the Management Console.  Using the Vignette Process Workflow Modeler, students create workflow definitions and export them to the V7 Content Management Server.  Deploying content to multiple stages is covered as well as configured in the classroom. During the course, students also learn about implementation architecture considerations.  Instructor Led Course 3 Days

V7 Content Management Developer Foundation This course is designed for developer/programmers responsible for content application design and development (including content management and content delivery applications).  Using Vignette Management Console, students learn to perform content management tasks including the creation of the content project hierarchy, content type definitions (modeling), content instances, and the site/channel hierarchy.  Students also create Roles and associated capabilities using the Management Console.  Using the Vignette Process Workflow Modeler, students create workflow definitions and export them to the V7 Content Management Server.  Instructor Led Course 4 Days

V7 Content Management Business Foundation Students learn to perform content management and workflow process modeling tasks using Vignette V7 Services. Using Vignette's Content Management Blueprint, students analyze content management requirements and then implement them using the Vignette Command Center and the Process Workflow Modeler. This course includes demonstrations and hands-on exercises to reinforce lecture topics such as:  Content management requirements planning  Modeling and instantiating content  Creating XML workflow definitions and instances using graphics-based tools  Integrating content from multiple sources  Typical job titles include: Content Contributors, Workflow Authors, Line of Business Managers  Instructor Led Course 2 Days

Vignette Application Builder Foundation I Using Vignette Application Builder, students learn how to create an application, associate it with one or more data stores, create data models based on existing database tables, and create/format views (the forms, reports, charts and graphs used to view and manage data) and surface the views as modules on a Web page in a Vignette® Application Portal-based site.  Students learn how to create forms that are either entry forms (for adding new or updating existing data records) or read-only forms.  Students learn how to create reports that are either standard reports (reporting on all records accessed by the data model), reports with pre- defined criteria, or reports that enable site users to enter their own criteria.  Typical job titles include: Line of Business Manager, Application Designer, Programmer, Developer, Site Administrator, Server Administrator and Technical Lead.  Instructor Led Course 2 Days

Vignette Application Builder Foundation 2 Continuing where Vignette® Application Builder Foundation I left off, students learn how to add complex navigation to an application, create composite views ("views within views") and add business logic to the application through the use of business rules.  The class examines data models based on objects other than existing database tables. Students will use Vignette Application Builder to create and modify database tables or interact with a Web service that serves as a data provider.  Students learn how to import, export and localize their applications.  Student will complete a case study (from design through implementation) to apply the skills they have learned in Foundation 1 and Foundation 2.  Typical job titles include: Application Designer, Programmer, Developer, Site Administrator, Server Administrator and Technical Lead.  Instructor Led Course 2 Days

Vignette Dialog Foundation This course is designed for business users responsible for implementing Vignette Dialog and Vignette Messenger. Students learn to design, develop, and rollout simple dialogs and campaigns utilizing both Vignette Dialog and Vignette Messenger.  Students first learn the basic Vignette Dialog and Messenger terms and concepts and get hands-on experience with designing and developing simple dialogs and campaigns. During the development process, students learn to utilize the Vignette Script Editor, the Shapes on the Shape Palette and the Design Canvas to customize a dialog, or conversation, using real world simulated customer interaction scenarios.  In addition to working with some of the standard reporting features of Vignette Dialog, students learn and practice some basic troubleshooting techniques through analyzing Vignette Dialog and Messenger log file information.  Using the Vignette Dialog Console, students learn to personalize the Console, manage Vignette Dialog Users, create Participant Lists of customers and group those customers into manageable segments. Students also create and manage personalized dialogs and campaigns using the Vignette Dialog tags.  Students learn the process of integrating Vignette Messenger with Vignette Dialog to create simple campaigns and applying this process to real-world simulated customer interaction scenarios.  Instructor Led Course 3 Days

Existing Courses supporting the Foundation Series Administering Web Sites on Vignette® Application Portal In this course, you will learn how to administer a Vignette Application Portal (VAP) 4.1 installation. Hands-on exercises enable you to create and manage sites, site membership (users and groups), site content (module types, modules, pages, and navigation elements), and site branding (grids, themes, styles types, and styles). Students learn how to:  Delegate administration and how to localize a site for use by users with differing language preferences.  Examine the architecture of a module and the files required for a new module type. You manage deployment of modules and module types using the Vignette Application Portal Module Manager.  Configure the WebConnector module, enabling you to include existing Web content as modules in your portal.  Surface a Web service as a module. You learn how to export, import and deploy sites and site components.  Typical job titles include: Server Administrators,Site Administrators  Instructor Led Course 3 Days

Existing Courses supporting the Foundation Series Managing Flow Diagrams Using Vignette® Business Integration Studio Students learn the basic concepts of the Vignette Business Integration Studio (VBIS) visual programming language and adapters. Students use adapters for commonly used applications to construct and run simple flow diagrams. During the course, students are introduced to advanced visual programming constructs and learn how to control the flow of execution in flow diagrams. Students also learn how to deploy flow diagrams as well as plan for, and handle exceptions that may occur during execution of flow diagrams.  This course enables technical users.
