About Solar Energy Solar energy is the radiant light and heat from the sun rays. Solar panels are created to capture the radiant light and convert it into energy. Its renewable because the energy is based of the sunlight. Solar energy is renewable energy

History of Solar panels In 1988 a scientist named Alexandre Edmond Becquerel discovered how the sunlight's energy could be generated into energy, this is called photovoltaic effect ●Solar energy could be used anywhere in the world because it's based off the sunlight's energy. ●Best place to use solar energy would be Germany. ●Germany is such a good place because it has a lot of sunlight, it also is where the biggest production of solar panels are.

Solar Energy Solar energy is used as a source of clean energy Solar energy common uses: Hot water Heating buildings Cooking Road signs Calculators Satellites

Advantages and Disadvantages Disadvantages : can't produce energy throughout the night Power is reduced to times of cloud cover Very expensive to install Advantages: ●solar energy is indefinitely renewable ●include very little maintenance ●Cleaner source of energy

Economic issues Disadvantages: Very expensive to install 40% efficiency rate which means 60% of the sunlight gets wasted storms or hurricanes also reduce your ability to draw power during those days. Advantages: ●include very little maintenance ●Reduces electricity cost and electricity bills ●More efficient and useful

Environmental issues Advantages: Cleaner source of energy Reduces the us of 85 percent from oil, natural gas, and coal Helps greenhouse gas emissions Disadvantages: ●Power is reduced to times of cloud cover ●can't produce energy throughout the night ●Habitat loss

The storing of Solar Energy Solar panels are connected to a battery and is charged during the day. The batteries at night are charged and used to power whatever you need. The energy the solar collected during the day could be released at night and used as a energy sources at night How is energy stored? ●Solar panels how rechargable batteries that are charged during the day ●These batteries are used at night when sun is not visible

The Storing of Solar Energy How is it released? Electricity is sent to users through a transmission system Consisting of electric transmission line towers The solar panels are equipped with converters that makes the radiant rays from the sun. The science since the solar panel makes it capable to convert the sunlight into electricity ` The energy from the sun are attracted to solar panels and transferred from thermal energy to heat

World Impacts of Solar Energy Solar energy is one of the cleanest source of energy Reduced habitat loss, and helps with cleaner environment Reduces the use of natural materials Fossil fuels are stopped and stops global warming because they run of the sun energy which is clean and not a dirty fuel.

Fun Facts about solar energy ➔ Solar Energy produces no pollution ➔ Space missions by various countries use solar energy to power their space ships ➔ The earth receives about 1,366 watts of direct solar energy per square meter ➔ The largest solar plant in the world is located in Mojave desert in California covering 100 acres ➔ Solar energy has been used for 2700 years
