Waves and Energy

 Each correctly answered question is worth 1 point  If a group answers a question incorrectly, the next group can answer for double the points.  The points continue doubling until one group gets answers the question correctly!

 It is a hot summer day and you have soccer camp. What color shirt and short combo will you wear and why?

 Avoid wearing dark color clothes because it will make you hotter! The reason is because dark colored objects absorb more heat than lighter colored objects!

 The sun produces a lot of energy, but the earth only takes a little bit. It’s like comparing the ALL of food made by a cafeteria to the amount of food eaten by a single student.  Why does only a part of the sun’s energy come to earth?

 The sun radiates energy in ALL directions, not just towards planet Earth.

 Describe what a loud, high pitched sound may look like using the words “frequency” and “amplitude”

 Loud = high amplitude  High pitched = high frequency

 Describe what a quiet, low pitched sound may look like. Use the words “frequency” and “amplitude” in your description!
