Printer is an output device that produces the processed information in printed hard copy format. The result is obtained on paper or polymer sheets in printed format.

Impact printers work similar to conventional typewriters, i.e. by pressing typeface against inked ribbon and paper. Examples :- Chain Printer Drum Printer Dot Matrix Printer Daisy Wheel printer

This printers consists of solid cylindrical drum that has raised characters in bands on its surface.

Regular printing speed :- 180 to 360 characters per second. Regular printing speed :- 180 to 360 characters per second. Different sizes of this printer :- 80, 120, 180 Columns etc…… This printer is costlier compared to inkjet printers these are the most economical printers if used to print textual document, as the cost of ribbons as well as the cartridge is cheap
