Financial Risk Management 31 December 2015 year

2 TOPIC OF THE PRESENTATION Financial Risk Management Implementation of Internal Credit Ratings System  Internal Credit Ratings system (ICR) has been launched since 2013 for the maintenance of the stable financial position of the Group — ICR will allow to duly recognize and eliminate negative trends thus enhancing sustainability of the Group. The ability to generate free cash from operating activities, debt burden, liquidity of companies of the Group are the key factors of ICR — ICR system helps to identify potential issues and take timely actions in order to improve the financial position of particular companies of the Group. Internal credit rating has also been applied for KPI purposes in Inter RAO. Credit Risks  Allocation of funds and deposits of the Group is made within established limits depending on the estimation of business and financial risks of the banks. In year 2015 the methodology has been updated based on the most actual statistics of defaults.  The Group regularly assesses financial position of counterparties (suppliers, debtors, contractors). Advanced payments, letters of credit, guarantees are used for risk minimization.  To increase transparency and to minimize credit risks, the open methodology for estimation of financial stability of the purchasing procedures participants is applied. Market Risks  The balancing of foreign exchange positions and optimization of the loan portfolio is a major instrument used to manage market risks.  In year 2015 the specialized IT system was launched in order to continuously estimate market risks of the Group and its companies, and in order to assess the effect of financial decisions on the level of risk  Currency risk hedging is used since 2008 if needed as additional instrument to reduce the Group's exposure to currency risk.  Currency component of the company credit portfolio is low and well balanced with currency cash reserves. At the same time currency revenue from trading activity acts like a natural hedge. Summing up, we can describe the total Group net currency position as from the positive to neutral in terms of ruble depreciation. General Principles of Inter RAO’s Financial Risk Management Up to date methods of financial risks assessment are applied on the basis on VAR, EaR, Shortfall, etc. The level of risk exposure of the Group and its companies is measured on the basis of consolidated management records, within specialized IT system Financial risk management is realized in consideration with consolidated risks assessment of the Group Financial Risk Management
