Project Specifics There are 2 sections to this report which will be put all together on a poster board (no science boards or construction paper!!!)‏ 1.Written Section – worth 62 points 2.Drawings & Bibliography – worth 38 points

Written Sections The following sections are worth 62 points. Pay close attention to detail and answer all questions completely. All sections must have a header to identify it.

Introduction – 1 paragraph 1.What is an explorer? This is just the definition in your own words. 2.Why are they important? Your opinion based on what you've read. 3.Why should we learn about them? Your opinion 4.What can we learn from them? Based on what you've read 5.Who is your explorer? Tell me who your explorer is

Personal History – 2 paragraphs You must provide at least 5 answers: What country did he live in? Date of birth Date of death Parents Siblings Was he married? Did he have children? Did he have any other jobs/professions? Other interesting facts

Exploration – 2 paragraphs 1. Name of country or place that was discovered 2.What route did he take? List major oceans/land/countries crossed or passed through 3.Who did he meet there? 4.What did he find there? People/resources/new land 5.What problems were encountered? Illness/hostile encounter

Importance of Exploration – 1 paragraph 1.What made this explorer become famous? 2.What will he be remembered for? 3.Did the discovery change the life of the explorer? How? 4.Is this discovery important to us today? Why?
