Power Point The Do’s and Don’ts!

Down’s Syndrome Down’s syndrome is a genetic disorder in which a male or female has an extra chromosome. A normal person has 46 chromosomes, but a person with Down’s Syndrome has 47 chrosomes. To be extact, a person with Down’s Syndrome has an extra chromosome #21. This extra chromosome causes some physical defects that are characteristic of every person that has Down’s Syndrome.

Down’s Syndrome Genetic Disorder Normal Person = 46 chromosomes Down’s Syndrome = 47 chromosomes Extra chromosome #21 Males and females can be affected Physical Defects

Down’s Syndrome Genetic Disorder Normal Person = 46 chromosomes Down’s Syndrome = 47 chromosomes Extra chromosome #21 Males and females can be affected Physical Defects

Genetic Disorder Normal person is born with 46 chromosomes Down’s Syndrome = 47 chromosomes Extra chromosome #21 Males and females can be affected Physical Defects

Friendly Tips Use phrases (no long text!) Add sounds (when appropriate) Add pictures (to each slide) Add animations (reduces audience overload) Use spell checker Use note cards (no staring at the projection screen)
