222 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Agenda Overview Changes since -02 version Next Steps

333 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Overview Need for This Draft MPLS has been deployed in many networks New deployments continue in Enterprise (and SP) networks Upgrades / replacements continue in existing deployments –Vendors continue to bring new routers to the market. Hence, common criteria for implementation comparison is desired.

444 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Overview Draft Goals This draft addresses an acute and growing need for recommendations on evaluating MPLS forwarding Focuses on the forwarding plane Maintain the structure and spirit of RFC2544.

555 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Changes from -02 Aligned the whole document with the Scope. Updated the section 4 to clarify the routing protocol support (4.1.1) and label distribution (4.1.2) Removed Section to simply the abbreviations. Updated the section 5 to include IP version and MPLS forwarding operation in “Reporting Format”.

666 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Changes from -02 Updated the section 6 to align it with RFC2544. –Added the cases covering the following Latency Frame loss rate measurement System Recovery Reset –Rewrote the section 6 increase the reusability Rewrote the Section 6.1 considerably. –Concise flow. Removed cases pertaining to Negative, and uncommon scenarios.

777 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Current State Have received considerable support on the list – Review by the WG members has been quite helpful. Authors believe that the document is nearing completion. Thanks to the recent WG review, the authors have noted the following changes to be integrated in the next version (-04) : -Old artifact concerning multi-label in section 6 (test setup) to be deleted -Clarification for Stable control plane in section 6.4 and 6.5 -Differentiation between failure types for distributed platforms, sw/hw reset -Clarification for no load balancing, multicast, or TE-FRR for now (unicast IPv4/6 is there)

888 IETF-70 draft-akhter-bmwg-mpls-meth Next Steps Incorporate the comments and seek further review. Should this be the WG document?
