Purpose The purpose of this is to educate teen’s on the dangers of texting and driving.

Statistics Say. Approximately 6,000 deaths a year or 18 deaths each day are caused by texting and driving. Texting and driving results in a further half a million injuries per year 2

Modern Day teens Over 85% of the teen population own cell phones and state that texting is their primary means of communication. A teen sends an average of 100 texts each day. (An average of 1 every 10 minutes of waking hours) More than one trillion texts were sent worldwide in 2011.

It’s getting out of hand!!! 37% of drivers ages 18 to 27 admit to texting while driving. 14% of 28 to 44 year olds admit to texting while driving 2% of 45 to 60 year olds, admit to texting and driving. Texting and Driving Statistics 3
