Plot Line A plot line is a graphic representation of a story which includes exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution

Exposition: provides important background information and introduces the setting, characters, and conflict Rising Action: events that lead up to the climax by adding complications or expanding the conflict Climax: the point of greatest emotional intensity, interest or suspense in a story; the turning point Falling Action: the action that takes place after the climax to reveal the final outcome of events Resolution: the end of the story where the conflict is resolved Plot Components

Plot: Conflict Conflict is the central struggle between opposing forces that triggers the action in a literary work. in a story. Without conflict, there is no plot.

Plot: Character vs. Character Conflict This type of conflict finds the main character in conflict with another character, human or not human. “The new one is the most beautiful of all; he is so young and pretty.” And the old swans bowed their heads before him. Then he felt quite ashamed, and hid his head under his wing; for he did not know what to do, he was so happy, and yet not at all proud.
