Where is Salt Lake County?  Salt Lake County is north of Utah County (the county we live in) and is bordered on the east and west by mountains.

History  Salt Lake County was first inhabited by the Ute and Shoshone Indian Tribes.  There were some trappers who used the Salt Lake County area for hunting/trapping as well.  Brigham Young led the Mormon Pioneers into Salt Lake County in  Salt Lake City was established by the Mormon Pioneers and it became the state capital.
