Evaluate Multiplication and Division Expressions SWBAT find the value of algebraic expressions involving multiplication or division

Review What does it mean to evaluate?  Substitute the given number for the variable.  Solve or compute to find the value.

Examples Gilbert drives a train at an average rate of 130 hours per hour. After a number of hours the train reaches its destination. How many miles does the train travel in 2.5 hours? Set up as an expression with a variable:  130x Evaluate for the given value:  130(2.5)  325

Examples 33t, for t = ÷ f, for f = 15 How do I calculate 0.25 · 8 ÷ 2? 0.5r, for r = n, for n = 20 n ÷ 160, for n = 2992 a(2.1x0.02), for a = 40
