6 Administration Menu Administration Tasks, mainly used for accessing System Codes You do not have access to edit items here.

7 Lock Menu VERY IMPORTANT! Always lock your screen or exit out of NCWISE when you leave your computer.

8 Querying in NCWISE  Hot Keys F7 – Enter (clears the current search) Type a value in the appropriate field  % - wildcard  % may be used for any missing value Shift + F2 (shows number of records) F8 – Execute search

9 What to do when you are stuck  If a screen hangs up, review the message in the bottom left of the screen  CTRL + Q – stops the current command  Action  Exit

10 Changing Your Password  Main Menu  User Profile  Always exit NC WISE after changing your password  Passwords must be at least 8 characters long  At least two non-alpha characters must be included. No spaces are allowed  Passwords must be changed every 90 days  Do NOT SHARE your password

11 NC WISE Icons Data Managers Only Select Student – search for a student Select School – only use if member of more than one school Birthday Cake – lists today’s birthdays Pencil – Notes (do not use) Calendar – Shows non-school days Chalkboard – Displays final grades Reports – Takes you to the reports System Codes – Do not use ABC – EC information Handshake – Do not use Pencil/paper – Attendance Module

12 Navigate Button Search for screens by name or using wildcard character. Ability to view screens is based on security level

14 Printing in NC WISE  Print quick access button Print reports for the selected student  Hot Print Button Located on many screens Multiple reports can be printed when the printer icon is selected, such as the student’s attendance summary, timetable, and transcript

15 Working with Student Demographics  From the main screen  Select F7  Query for the student  Query by first name, last name, partial name, grade, student number, or any combination of these  Select F8

16 Using Student Demographics  Basic  Courses  Notes (not used)  Parent and Emergency Contact  Diploma  Viewing Incidents

17 Student Courses and Marks  Query for the Student on the Main Screen  Select the Quick Access Courses button or  Select common View from the Menu and Courses from the Common View List

18 Student Courses Screen Click Here, then All Marks

19 Student Test Scores  Main Menu  Change Student  Standardized Testing  Student Test Scoring

21 Running Reports  Click on the Reports Icon List of categories of reports Expand a folder to view the reports in each category  Running a Demographic Extract Main Start Screen  Reports button  Specify Extract Criteria Specifies the criteria to pull into the report Can specify criteria such as grade, gender, or can run an extract to pull the whole school
