1 Excretory System By: Delia Breedlove, Miguel Bondi, Justin Wu, Leonard Francois, Mariya Gofman

2 What is the system and what are its functions ? The Excretory System is very important to your body and it only has a few parts. In a similar way to removing solid waste form your body. You must also get rid of fluids. You know the results of the excretory system as urine. The regulation process of body fluids and salts levels is also called Osmoregulation.

3 What is the system and what are its functions ? The kidneys act as a filter. Eventually all of the blood in your body passes through the kidneys and they are able to their filtering magic. The kidneys pull harmful molecules out of your bloodstream and leave the ones that are good for you.

4 What are the parts of this system & what are their jobs ? The parts of this system are the kidney and bladder. What do kidneys do? The kidneys acts like a filter. All your blood passes threw the kidney at one point. The kidneys pull harmful molecules out of your bloodstream and leave the good ones for you.

5 What are the parts of this system & what are their jobs ? The kidneys have hydration (water) levels for your body. So when your kidney has to much water it lets it out.

6 What are 3 common diseases or disorders of this system ? Gout is a disorder in which the body builds up excess amounts of uric acid as the kidneys are unable to process it properly.

7 What are 3 common diseases or disorders of this system ? Marburg disease. A viral disease producing a serve and often fatal illness with fever, rash, diarrhea, vomiting and gastrointestinal bleeding, transmitted to humans through contact with infected green monkeys.

8 What are 3 common diseases or disorders of this system ? Urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria in the urethra and bladder. UTI ‘s are more common in women than men. This is believed to be due to the female urethra ‘s proximity to the anus.

9 Why is this system important to body ? Rid the body of waste Chemicals that are toxic The kidneys remove the urea from the blood. The kidneys send urea to the bladder for storage ( urine ) Urine leaves your body through the process of urination.
