2. Notes Sound is energy that travels through air. A sound is made when something vibrates. The vibration is what makes the sound you hear. Sound moves through the air as waves.

3. Interesting Facts: *animals can often hear sounds that humans cannot. *dogs can hear high pitched, and bats have the most keen hearing. Bats use echoes to find prey. *grasshoppers use their legs to sense vibrations, and snakes use their jaw.

4. Light is a form of energy that travels in waves. We see these waves as visible light. Light moves faster than sound, takes 8 min. for sun rays to reach Earth. Dark colored objects absorb the most light.

5. Glass and mirrors causes light to reflect off surface, bouncing light rays. Refraction changes the angle you see things, due to the bending of light waves.

6. Solar Energy Energy that comes from our Sun Example: sun Solar energy is being produced Solar energy comes from the sun, which is created by the sun as well.

12. Chemical Energy Energy stored in a substance and released during a chemical reaction. Closed circuit, digestion of food is chemical energy. Chemical energy is being produced. Potential energy was the previous energy.
