3. Walk to School… Little girl In a white dress With really tall men. All their feet Walking together, Marching together, Every day.

4. No one would give them any lunch. Our lunch room doesn’t do that-that’s just wrong! They stayed and stayed and stayed… that’s called a boycott.

5. Whites and Colored That looks more like a sink. I like the other water fountain and it looks nicer. I’m glad I could use it, but my friend Janice couldn’t … so I woudn’t want to Drink fancy anymore. I’d get in line behind the man.

6. A Peaceful Man Love is a Big Word that warms like the Sun. Having a Dream is a good thing. Everyone should have dreams. Smile. My grandma says life’s too short and you gotta smile.

7. Abe Lincoln helped end slavery. It was hard because there was a war. John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King were friends. He wanted bad laws to end. This is the president that signed the papers to make new laws. It’s President Johnson.

8. Before the laws changed, black children might have to go to schools like this. It looks really crowded!

9. “I have a dream.” Many people came to hear him. I think President Obama would like him!

10. We can play together. No one says we can’t. And if they did, I would say “That’s not true, because friendship can climb fences.

11. We read about Rosa Parks. She didn’t budge when a white person wanted her seat.

12. People marched together. They wanted freedom and equal laws.

13. We want to play together and we like to play together. Do you want to play?

14. This is a flag for all of us, and we can have any color skin.

15. Babies are smarter than us sometimes.

16. Together is Better.
