2. Our School School type: Secondary school with about 1170 students (ages 14 – 20) specialised in Tourism, Gastronomy, Business and Marketing. We run special courses for students who passed their school leaving exams (matura) so we are involved in adult education too.

3. The statue of Barna Sipkay Our school was named after him. He was a famous writer and journalist.

4. Our school has won several cooking competitions.

6. We have been doing Comenius projects since 2006. A lot of European countries have taken part in our projects. In 2009 we finished a multilateral Comenius project with the title of “Healthy Youth in the Future Europe“. Our partner schools were from Malta, Norway, Holland and France. We were doing it very successfully using the great variety of ICT techniques. The Hungarian National Agency nominated our project for an International Cultural Award which we even won. 11. We are also very much into students` exchanges: We have been doing exchanges with Finland and Austria usually taking a group between 10 – 12 students accompanied by two teachers. We also have exchange partner schools from Scotland, Sardinia island and France. Special exchanges with the focus of Tourism and Catering were done with countries (Scotland and France) specialised in the same vocational fields. The focus of an exchange is the improvement of the foreign language (English German and Italian) and putting great emphasis on Cultural diversities.

14. Our other multilateral project with the title of “How Everybody Remembers Meaningful Sights“ started in 2009 and finished in 2011 June. The topic of this project was cultural tourism. We were working with countries from Spain, Germany, Turkey, Italy and Greece.

17. In Brussels From 2012-2014 we worked on another Multilateral project with Italy, Belgium, Sweden and Spain. Our project YES (Young Entereprene- urs Start) was about enterprises and business.

25. For 8 years now our students have had the great opportunity to do their summer training in 4 and 5 star hotels on the islands of Greece (Rhodos, Crete,Corfu, Kefalonia etc). This experience provides them with an excellent opportunity to practise foreign languages while developing their hotel working skills.
