3 OGC ® Proposed Groundwater SWG The Hydrology DWG recommends that the OGC Technical Committee approve the formation of a “GroundWater Standards Working Group“ to submit a “GroundWaterML2” via the RFC process –A RFC Submission Team will be formed, a charter of the SWG will be developed and discussed at the HydroDWG workshop, Orléans 20-24 Sep. The SWG charter will be finalised and sent to TC for approval by an electronic vote in October 2015. Pending final edits and review by OGC staff –Motion: Bruce Simons, CSIRO –Second: Alistair Ritchie, Landcare Research The vote was passed with unanimous consent Objective of the SWG is to progress the groundwater conceptual model and GWML2 XML encoding to the state of an adopted OGC standard Copyright © 2015 Open Geospatial Consortium

4 OGC ® Copyright © 2015 Open Geospatial Consortium Groundwater IE Engineering Report The HydroDWG plans to recommend that the OGC Technical Committee approve release of [OGC 15-082] (uploaded 1 Sep) “GroundWaterML 2 – GW2IE FINAL REPORT” as an OGC Engineering Report –Pending and final edits and review by OGC staff –Includes draft GWML2 specification + implementation report –HydroDWG approval is expected at HydroDWG workshop, Orléans 20-24 Sep followed by OGC vote This engineering report describes a conceptual model, logical model, and GML/XML encoding rules for the exchange of groundwater data.

5 OGC ® Proposed Water Standards Interoperability Experiment Activity Plan for an OGC Interoperability Experiment in Europe: WaterInnEU in development Initiating organisations: –Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona - CREAF –52° North GmbH –TU Delft –Adelphi –Antea Group Purpose: to assess the difficulty of applying OGC standards in the Water community and to demonstrate their applicability. Combine different geospatial standards as defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (e.g., WaterML 2.0, SOS, WPS, WFS, WCS, etc.). The region of interest of this experiment is the Scheldt river basin in Europe. Contact: Joan Masó, joan.maso@uab.cat Copyright © 2015 Open Geospatial Consortium
