2 Current Efforts Nationwide Ohio Perinatal Quality Consortium – In 18 months, shifted 8000 deliveries from preterm to term – Avoided 250 NICU admissions & saved $50,000 per admission

3 Current Efforts Nationwide Washington State Perinatal Collaborative – Goal is to reduce elective deliveries before 39 weeks gestational age to 7% or less

4 Current Efforts Nationwide Louisiana Perinatal Care Improvement Summit – Brought together Perinatal Quality experts from across the United States for the first summit that was held in October 2011

5 Current Efforts Nationwide ASTHO (Association of State & Territorial Health Officials) –Support state health officials & their staffs with improving health outcomes for infants by reducing infant mortality & prematurity in the United States

6 Current Efforts Nationwide AETNA Insurance – Publicly recognize facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to infant safety in their online provider directory with the phrase “Elective Delivery Infant Safety Program”
